PHOTOGRAPHER/

About Us:
We are a small but vibrant community theater dedicated to “Bringing hope to families battling cancer through the performing arts”. We select a Wall of Hope Recipient for each of our shows and everything we do is dedicated to them. We collect donations throughout our shows, and 100% of the money donated is given to our Recipient and their family on the closing night of each show. Our theater fosters an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere, and we are committed to providing high-quality theatre experiences to our performers, production teams, staff, and patrons alike.
Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Photographer/Videographer to capture the essence of our theater's productions and events through stunning visual storytelling. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of theatrical lighting and composition, and the ability to craft compelling narratives through photography and videography. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to preserving and promoting our theater's artistic legacy and engaging with a diverse array of theater productions and events.
Responsibilities:
- Capture still images and video footage of theater productions, rehearsals, actor headshots, events, and behind-the-scenes moments
- Edit and retouch photos and videos to ensure high-quality and visually compelling content for promotional and archival purposes
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create captivating visual assets for use in promotional materials, social media, and online platforms
- Work closely with the artistic and production teams to understand the creative vision of each production and effectively convey it through visual media
- Manage and maintain personal photography and videography equipment, including cameras, lighting, and editing software
- Assist in organizing and archiving a comprehensive library of visual assets documenting the history and evolution of the theater's productions and events
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary to accommodate theater schedules and events
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in photography and videography, preferably within a performing arts or events context
- Proficiency in digital photography and videography equipment, as well as editing software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of lighting, composition, and storytelling principles to effectively convey the emotional and narrative elements of live performances
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating creativity, adaptability, and strong communication skills
- A portfolio showcasing a diverse range of photography and videography work, with an emphasis on live events or performing arts content
- Dedication to capturing and preserving the essence of live theater and the unique atmosphere of our community theater
Benefits:
This position offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of visually documenting the artistic and community impact of a thriving community theater, with a unique opportunity to also associate with our Wall of Hope recipients. The selected candidate will receive competitive compensation of $500.00 per month with an additional stipend of $500 for each mainstage promo video. This position is being hired as an independent contractor position.

2 PRODUCERS

Job Description
​
The Producer position at the Hopebox Theatre is an annual contract and we are looking to hire qualified individuals for our 2025 season. They will need to be ready to start the contract in December 2024, with Fiddler on the Roof. They will work as a team with other Producers at the theatre to ensure the full slate of productions are carried out, from auditions to closing, with positivity and strong leadership, all while ensuring the focus of the theatre experience at the Hopebox is focused on the mission of bringing hope to families battling cancer through the performing arts. Both producers will be paid a monthly stipend of $350.
Responsibilities:

Produce 3 main stage shows during the 2025 season.

Assist the other Producer in the production of the other shows, as needed.

Meet with Directors, Designers, and other production volunteers to discuss Hopebox theatre’s policy, procedures, and expectations.

Regularly attend rehearsals and production meetings to ensure the steady progress of production deadlines.

Manage production budgets

Facilitate communication between the cast, production team, and Hopebox staff and volunteers.
Qualifications:

Strong background in Theatre Production, Stage Management, or related field preferred.

Be able to organize large amounts of data such as budgets and contracts.

Experience with Microsoft Office, Social Media, and basic computer technology.

COSTUME MANAGER
The Costume Manager (in-house position) is a crucial member of our organization. This person will be responsible for overseeing the physical and organizational aspects of our Costume Shop. They will also ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently before, during and after each production and event at the Hopebox Theatre. The Costumer Manager will be paid a monthly stipend of $450.
This person needs to be very organized a self doer and a good communicator.
Other responsibilities may include:
*Responsible for some acquisition, maintenance and storage of all Hopebox costumes.
*Manages the organization and rental of costumes, accessories and/or materials.
*Assists directors and costume designers for each show in finding, pulling and returning the appropriate costumes needed for their show.
*Ensures the costume designers have the necessary supplies and tools needed.
*Ensures costumes are ready on time for the production team and then returned to their proper place at the end of production. Laundered and/or dry cleaned.
*Laundered, dry cleaned, and rentals returned in a timely fashion.
*Works closely with the Producer to follow costume budget guidelines for each show.
*Coordinates with the production team on the costume parade and dress rehearsal/cast photo deadlines.
*Ensures supplies and consumables are not wasted.
*Assists in the organization and safety of equipment and inventory, making sure the shops and dressing rooms are a safe work environment.
*Maintains a clean, organized work area.
*Coordinates with various production teams and departments within the Hopebox Theatre.
*Must maintain a good relationship with all team members.
