Meet Isaac Shipp, our 10 year-old recipient for A Christmas Story

You can donate to Isaac and his family directly through Venmo @givehopebox today. Give the gift of hope. Donate today.

Isaac is 10 years old and is the youngest in our family, along with his twin brother Lucas. He also has 2 older brothers. He loves the outdoors, including camping, riding dirt bikes, playing soccer, and swimming. He loves music and watching movies.

He was diagnosed with T-cell acute leukemia on December 21, 2023. We have spent nearly every week at the hospital this past year. He’s had a lot of ups and downs. The hardest part of treatment has been the body aches, nausea, leg cramps, and stomach pains, it’s been quite the ride. But despite all of that, he’s the strongest warrior we know!!

He is now in what they refer to as the “maintenance phase,” which means fewer hospital visits! However, he does still take daily chemo pills and steroids for 5 days each month. They call these steroid pulses and they are tough on his little body.

Isaac has a heart of gold. He is compassionate and empathetic and always looks for ways to help other kids with cancer. We have donated gift bags for these kids at the hospital, prepared hygiene kits, and done a blanket drive. Isaac has taught us so much and we are so grateful he’s part of our family!
